Setting up your website template:

Step 1:
EDIT FLASH ANIMATION: | Click for more details
Open the "flash.txt" file with Notepad or a plain text editor and edit "Your Website Title" with your name or company name. Be sure not to delete the "logo=" code. This will update the Flash logo on all pages. If you wish to use a graphic logo, there are instructions later in this document.

Step 2:
EDIT FOOTER: | Click for more details
Open the "footer.js" file in Notepad or any text editor, and change the "Your Company" line with your company name. This will change the lower page info on all pages. Edit all ".js" files with a text editor. The "footer.js" also includes links you can edit, or you can add more links as well.

Step 3:
EDIT CONTACT INFO: | Click for more details
Open the "contact.js" file in Notepad and edit the company name, address, phone and fax numbers and e-mail address. This will update contact info on the "contact" page.

Step 4:
EDIT THE CONTACT FORM:

Click for current info on setting up the template forms.

Click for info on adding more fields to the forms.

Click for changing form sizes or colors.

If you want to use only e-mail on the contact page you can remove the contact form from the "contact.htm" between the comment tags.

Step 5:
REPLACE THE GALLERY PICTURES: | Click for more details
The best way to setup the pictures in the gallery is not to actually edit the HTML pages and change the pictures on each individual page. The fastest way is to simply replace the pictures in the "gallery" folder with your own by overwriting the files that are in there now and using the same generic names.

In the "gallery" folder, replace the 54 "Fgallery" pictures with full size photos. Replace the 54 "gallery" pictures with your thumbnails. The thumbnails are now 100 x 67 pixels and the Fgallery images are 500 x 333. You can make them any size that you prefer. There is info for adding more images to each gallery page later in this document.

VIEWER SLIDESHOW OPTIONS: | Click for more details
You can change some options for the gallery image viewer page (viewer-slideshow.htm) by editing the pop-closeup.js in Notepad. Options include autoplay speed and right click protection.

Step 6:
EDIT PAGES: | Software choices | Notepad Editing
Change the text on all pages with your information. You can use a text editor like notepad. Take care not to delete any of the HTML tags that surround the text.

Step 7:
EDIT PAGE TITLES, DESCRIPTIONS AND KEYWORDS: | Click for more details
Open each of the pages and change the page titles (at the very top of the page) and also the description and the keywords to match your product or service. You can edit one page and copy and paste to the other pages. Be careful to only change what's inside the "" so you don't disturb the html code. The page title is important so your site will get a good listing at Google or MSN and other search engines.

Step 8:
UPLOAD: | Click for more details
Upload the pages on to your hosting company's server using ftp software like CuteFTP or Coffee Cup (free) or your control panel. Be sure to make a folder called "picts" and "gallery" on your server and put the images into these folders. Or just upload these entire folders. You can also upload using Windows Explorer. Click above for details.

Options:

USING A GRAPHIC LOGO:
To replace the Flash logo with a graphic logo: Delete or rename the "header.js". Rename the "graphic_logo_header.js" to "header.js". Edit the "logo.jpg" in the picts folder with your logo graphic. If you make this image larger in height, edit the headerheight variable in the "header.js".

WATERMARK SETUP:
You can configure the placement, opacity and whether or not to have a watermark over the images in the closeup views. You will edit the "watermark.js" to change options. In the "picts" folder is a .gif image called watermark.gif. You can replace this image with your own .gif image. If you change the size of the watermark.gif you will need to do some extra editing in the watermark.js file. Click here for related details.

HOMEPAGE IMAGE: | Tiling images | Replacing images
The image on the index.html is 1500 pixels wide x 300 high. This image is named "home.jpg" and is located in the picts folder. You can replace this using a montage image or a tiled image. Please see the links above for help with this.

THE sidebar.js FILE: | Click for more details
You can edit the "sidebar.js" file in Notepad or any text editor. You will find some options you can change at the top of this file. Images used in the sidebar are named "sidebar-?.jpg" 1 through 6 and can be found in the "picts" folder. If you switch on new images in the sidebar you may need to create new sidebar?.jpg images. See also "ADDING NEW GALLERY PAGES" on this page. Click here if you want to add new items to the sidebar.js.

SETTING UP THE SLIDESHOW PICTURES: | Click for more details
The "viewer-slideshow.htm" is currently setup to display all 54 Fgallery (full sized) pictures in the gallery folder. If you would like to add or remove pictures from this page, open the "viewer-slideshow.htm" in Notepad and look for the "EDIT THIS AREA" note. Copy and paste to add new pictures to the list, or delete lines to remove pictures. Images can be added to the slideshow even if they are not shown in one of the gallery pages.

LINING UP GALLERY THUMBNAILS:
If you change the notes near the top of the gallery pages, the pictures may no longer line up from one page to the next. To line up the galleries, open the "line_up_pictures.js" in Notepad and change the height="60" to shorten or lengthen all the pages at once.

FONTS: | Click for more details
Edit the "coolstyle.css" with any plain text editor to change font sizes and colors. Edit the "TABLE" px size to change the copy on all pages. Change the "title" px size to change all the title sizes. Click above for details.

CHANGING LINKS / ADDING TO THE MENU: | Click for more details
There are a total of 3 menu type files you can add and remove links in.
1. menu.js (top menu)
2. sidebar.js (left side small images with links)
3. footer.js (footer links)

You can change the names of the links like "about" or "gallery" to other page names by editing the "menu.js". Only change the one instance of the name and not the name with the ".htm" after it. Whatever you change in the menu.js or any .js file will change every page on the website. You can add more page links by copying one link in the menu.js or footer.js and pasting it right below the next. Be sure to back up your files before you edit them. There are notes in each "menu" .js files to add another link.

ADDING NEW GALLERY PAGES: | Click for more details
To add a new gallery page click here. Then you can edit the "sidebar.js" to switch on links to your new gallery pages. 12 links have been setup in the "sidebar.js". You may need to create new "sidebar-?.jpg" images in the picts folder if you switch these on.

ADDING MORE IMAGES TO A GALLERY PAGE: | Click for more details
In this template style it is recommended that you add more gallery pages rather than adding more thumbnail images to each page. If you do require more images on a gallery page please click the link above.

SITE MAP PAGE:
The "site_map.htm" is linked from the index.html. It is best not to remove this link so search engines can find your site map and properly list all your pages when users search at major search engines.

custom.htm PAYPAL PAYMENT PAGE:
This template includes a Paypal payment page called "custom.htm". Edit the "paypal@your-web-domain.com" in this page with your Paypal e-mail and you can use this page to accept custom payments by sending clients a link to this page and having them fill in the amount on the payment page.
